Nithyananda appeared in Ramnagar Chief Judicial Magistrate Court today along with all 5 co-accused

Nithyananda appeared in Ramnagar Chief Judicial Magistrate Court today along with all 5 co-accused in the case filed against them by Karnanataka CID. Nithyananda and all accused had filed various petitions in High Court and Supreme Court to quash the charges against them and to avoid his medical test & voice test. Supreme court however strongly criticised the long delay of 4 years in the case due to several petitions filed by Nithyananda & other accused. Final order of the Supreme Court is awaited. However, the Supreme court refused to stay the proceedings in the lower court, so Nithy and others are required to appear before the Magistrate in continuation of the Trial proceedings in the case. The Magistrate has directed all accused to appear before the court on 27th Aug, failing which Warrants will be issued against them. On 27th the committal proceedings will commence and the case will be committed to trial by the Sessions Court at Ramanagara. The court is also likely to set a date for trial proceedings to start at the Sessions court. If the accused fail to cooperate with the court, it can also be strong grounds to cancel the bail enjoyed by all 6 accused.
