Notice served on Nithyananda gurukul

The office of Deputy Commissioner, Ramanagaram district, was buzzing with activity on Tuesday. As many as 89 students of the gurukul in Nithyananda ashram, accompanied by their parents, attended counselling at the office.

The counselling was held after the DC’s office, Child Protection Cell, District Child Welfare Committee and Department of Women and Child Welfare, Ramanagaram district, issued a notice to the gurukul. It is said that the gurukul, a residential school, does not have the requisite permission from either the Education or Women and Child Welfare departments. The school is also not affiliated to any board, either State or central. It has also been said that the school was violating all norms and had failed to apply for registration. Kannada was not being taught there.

After issuing the notice, the DC’s office had directed the school authorities to ensure that all students and their parents attend the counselling. During counselling, it emerged that of the 108 students, 19 had been transferred to other schools in the neighbouring States. Of the 89 remaining students, 88 and their parents attended. A report of the counselling will be sent to the head office in Bangalore.

During the counselling session, there was an altercation between Nithyananda supporters and the media personnel.

The swami set up his headquarters — Nithyananda Dhyanapeedam — at Bidadi on the Bangalore-Mysore Highway and ashrams across Tamil Nadu. He has ashrams in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) and Puri (Odisha) as well. He runs meditation centres in a dozen of countries.

 

He landed in a storm after a news channel telecast video footage purportedly showing him in a sex romp with an actress. The video was of Nithyananda and a South Indian actress,

Nithyananda ashram in child rights row

The Bidadi police in Ramanagara district are probing alleged violation of rights of 47 children at an ashram of controversial godman Nithyananda.

The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KCPCR) had lodged a complaint on September 19 after it was allegedly prevented from verifying the alleged violation.

The complaint also follows failed efforts by the KCPCR and the Women and Child Development Department to persuade the district authorities to check the plight of children at the ashram.

Gurneeth Tej, Director of the Women and Child Development Department, wrote to the Deputy Commissioner of Ramanagara district on July 2 to act against alleged illegal activities at the ashram and rescue the 47 children.

"The issue is very sensitive. You should take necessary action to rescue the children from the ashram on priority. Give proper directions to the Superintendent of Police," he wrote.

KCPCR chairman Umesh Aradhya said the commission received a complaint from an unknown person on July 21 that children at the Nithyananda Bidadi Ashram were not receiving proper education and were being subjected to mental harassment.

A team of the KCPCR headed by Shivaraje Gowda and Edward Thomas went to the ashram on July 29 to verify the allegations but were denied access.

"A woman disciple, who introduced herself as advocate Ragasudha, abused the KCPCR team," Aradhya said.

He said Ragasudha also rejected a KCPCR summons.

The KCPCR subsequently filed a written complaint with the Ramanagara Superintendent of Police Anupam Agarwal to take necessary action against the advocate for preventing the commission from discharge of its duty.

On Agarwal's orders the Bidadi police registered a case on September 19.

"Whenever we receive complaints of violation of child rights, we inspect such places. The Bidadi ashram should also allow our team to inspect the children. We would appreciate the ashram if there is no violation of child rights. But they are preventing us. We will do our duty with police protection soon," Aradhya said.

The hue and cry is over for Madan Patel most ambitious project announced two years ago. The High Court intervened in the case of ‘Satynanda’ controversial film said to be on the life Sri Nityananda.

Two years ago in December when I announced the film I suspected danger to my film. It happened in a series of attacks but my purpose was to alert the public especially women on such fake Swmajis. Some of the dignitaries also joined in the attack on my film is what perturbed me most. Look at what happened in a series I was not wrong in assessment.

However the HC has asked for change in the title. I am doing is to via contest for the title. I would pick the right one award the winner with a car worth Rs.5 lakhs. ‘Satyananda’ a film stated to be on Nithyananda Swamy stars Ravi Chetan as hero. The film has story, screenplay, and direction from Madan Patel.

திருவண்ணாமலை: நித்தியானந்ததா இந்தாண்டு பிறந்த நாளை சிறப்பாக பக்தர்களுடன் கொண்டாட முடிவு செய்துள்ளார். அவரது நேரடி கண்காணிப்பில் விழா ஏற்பாடு நடந்து வருவதால், திருவண்ணாமலை தியான பீடத்தில் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. நித்தியானந்தாவுக்கு, 2012ம் ஆண்டு மிகவும் சோதனையான ஆண்டாக அமைந்தது. அவர் பல்வேறு இன்னல்களை சந்தித்து, மிகுந்து மன உளைச்சலுக்கு ஆளாகினார். இதில், கடந்தாண்டு ஏப்ரல், 29ம் தேதி, 203வது மதுரை ஆதீனமாக நியமிக்கப்பட்டபோது, மிகுந்து மகிழ்ச்சியில் திளைத்த போதும், மற்றொருபுறம் ஹிந்து அமைப்புகள் , பிற ஆதீனம், பிற மடத்தை சேர்ந்தவர்களின் எதிர்ப்பு போன்றவை இவரது நிம்மதியை பறித்தது.

நேரடி தலையீட்டால் பரபரப்பு :

அக்டோபர், 16ம் தேதி, "மதுரை ஆதீனத்தின் இளையமடாதிபதியாக நியமித்தது செல்லாது' என, தமிழக அரசு அறிவித்து நீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு தொடர்ந்தது. இதனால், மதுரை ஆதீனம் அருணகிரிநாதர், நித்யானந்தாவை இளைய ஆதீனம் பொறுப்பிலிருந்து நீக்கினார். இதனால், கடந்தாண்டு இவருக்கு அடிமேல் அடியாக, ஆண்டு முழுவதும் நித்யானந்தாவுக்கு சோதனையாக அமைந்தது. இவரது சீடர்கள் சிலர் விரக்திக்கு ஆளாகினர். சிலர் நித்யானந்தாவின் சீடர் என சொல்வதை தவிர்த்து அவரிடமிருந்து விலகி செல்ல துவங்கினர். அதனால், அவருக்கு கடந்த காலங்களை போல் சீடர்கள் கூட்டம் இல்லாமல் குறைந்து விட்டனர். இதனால், அவரது சீடர்களுக்கு புதிய உத்வேகத்தை அளித்து மீண்டும் தன் பழைய இமேஜை கொண்டு வர அவர் தீவிர முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளார்.அதற்காக, 2013ம் ஆண்டில் அவரது பிறந்தநாளை சிறப்பாக கொண்டாட முடிவு செய்தார். அவரது பிறந்த நாள் நட்சத்திரம் நாளை வருவதால் அவரது, 36வது பிறந்தநாளை, 36வது அவதார பெருநாளாக திருவண்ணாமலை கிரிவலப்பாதையில் உள்ள தியான பீடத்தில் கொண்டாட முடிவு செய்துள்ளார். 
இதற்காக தியான பீடத்தில் பிரமாண்டமாக பந்தல் அமைக்கும் பணி நடந்து வருகிறது, அன்னதானம் வழங்க, அங்கு போதுமான இடம் இல்லாததால், அவரது தியான பீடத்தின் எதிரில் உள்ள சீனுவாசா உயர்நிலைப்பள்ளி விளையாட்டு மைதானத்தில், கம்பி வேலிகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. 
எப்போதும் தியான பீடத்தில் எந்த விழா நடந்தாலும், அவரது சீடர்களே ஏற்பாடு செய்வது வழக்கம், ஆனால், இந்த முறை விழா சிறப்பாக நடக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக, மூன்று நாட்களுக்கு முன்னதாகவே திருவண்ணாமலைக்கு வந்துவிட்ட நித்தியானந்தா, விழா ஏற்பாடுகளை தன் நேரடி பார்வையில் செய்து வருகிறார். அவரது ஆஸ்ரமத்திற்கு வெளியூரிலிருந்து, சீடர்கள் வருகை தர துவங்கி விட்டனர்.

நித்தியானந்தா மீது கொலை மிரட்டல் புகார்

சென்னை: தம்மைப் பற்றி முன்னாள் சீடர்கள் ஆர்த்தி ராவ், லெனின் கருப்பன் ஆகியோர் கருத்து தெரிவிக்க தடை கோரி நித்தியானந்தா தாக்கல் செய்த மனுவை சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றம் தள்ளுபடி செய்துள்ளது.
சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் நித்தியானந்தா தாக்கல் செய்த மனுவில், என்மீது கர்நாடகாவில் குற்ற வழக்குகள் தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன. அந்த வழக்கில் குற்றப்பத்திரிகையும் தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆர்த்தி ராவும், நித்தியதர்மானந்தா என்ற லெனின் கருப்பனும் அந்த வழக்கில் அரசுத் தரப்பு சாட்சிகளாக உள்ளனர். ஆனால் ஆர்த்தி ராவ் தவறான உள்நோக்கத்தோடு என்னைப் பற்றி தவறான மற்றும் அவதூறான கருத்துகளை பத்திரிகை மற்றும் டி.வி.களுக்கு அளித்து வருகிறார். ஆர்த்தி ராவ், அவரது தந்தை சேதுமாதவன், லெனின் கருப்பன் ஆகியோர் என்னையும், எனது பக்தர்களைப் பற்றி வழக்கில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ள குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் அடிப்படையில் நேரடியாகவோ, மறைமுகமாகவோ, கருத்துகள், பேட்டிகள், அறிக்கைகள் அளிக்கக்கூடாது என்று உத்தரவிடக் கோரியிருந்தார்.

இந்த வழக்கை விசாரித்த நீதிபதி கே.சந்துரு, தம்மைப் பற்றி மற்றவர்களை பேசக்கூடாது என்று தீர்வு கேட்டு நீதிமன்றத்துக்கு வருகிறவர்கள் சுத்தமான கையோடு இருக்க வேண்டும். தம்மைப் பற்றி மற்றவர்கள் குறை கூறுவதை தடுப்பதற்கும், அவர்களை வாயடைப்பதற்கும் நீதிமன்றத்தை ஒரு கருவியாக பயன்படுத்தக்கூடாது. தீர்வு கேட்டு நீதிமன்றத்துக்கு வருகிறவர் நல்லெண்ணத்தில் வரவேண்டும். 2010-ம் ஆண்டில் நித்தியானந்தா மீது குற்றப்பத்திரிகை தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்ட பிறகும், அவர் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட விவகாரம் அக்குவேறு ஆணிவேறாக இந்தியா முழுவதும் அலசி ஆராயப்பட்டுவிட்டது. அவரது விவகாரத்தை மறைப்பதற்கு ஒன்றுமில்லை. நித்தியானந்தாவின் கேள்விகளுக்குத்தான் பதிலளித்தேன் என்றும், அவரை அவதூறு செய்யும் நோக்கம் எனக்கில்லை என்றும் ஆர்த்தி ராவ் கூறியிருக்கிறார். எனவே, நித்தியானந்தாவின் மனு தள்ளுபடி செய்யப்படுகிறது என்றார் அவர்.

HC dismisses Nithyananda's application

Chennai: The Madras High Court today dismissed controversial ‘godman’ Nithyananda’s application to restrain certain people from making any public statements on a case filed before a court in Karnataka involving him.

Nithyananda sought to restrain his former disciples Lenin Karuppan, Aarthi Rao and her father Sethumadhavan from making statements, conducting any panel discussions or interviews, allegations, reports, clippings, visuals either by direct or indirect reference to him and his devotees in the case.

According to Nithyananda, a criminal case was registered against him before the cheif judicial magistrate court of Ramanagara in Karnataka, for which a charge sheet was filed in 2010, and Rao and Karruppan are the prosecution witnesses.
He submitted that Rao with a “malicious intention” started giving fake and defamation and visual touching upon the allegation in the charge sheet.

In his order, Justice K Chandru said, “The person who comes to the court seeking for equitable relief like an injunction must come with clean hands. He can’t make the court as a tool to prevent his adversaries or make them silent, when he can be active by posting in the social media.”

The respondents have stated that they have not given any particular interview and had only responded to questions posted in the website. ”While so the petitioner has posted 107 questions to Rao. There is nothing wrong in Rao replying to questions. The applicant can’t claim any right to privacy because he is in public domain and his right to privacy is very limited,” the judge said.

Nithyananda himself even after filing this suit have used the media both print and visual as well as social networking sites and posted several questions for Rao who answered and he has been liberally giving interviews.

“A person who comes to the court seeking relief also has to behave himself and not violate principle of liberty for which the relief is sought for, from this court,” the judge said.
“The charge sheet has been field in 2010 and since then the issue has been discussed threadbare in variosu media to the length and breadth of the country. There is nothing further to be discussed,” he said.
The respondents only stated that they have only responded to questions to defend themselves when such questions were asked and not with a view to defame the applicant, the judge said, dismissing Nithyananda’s application.

'Sex Swami' Nithyananda arrested in Himachal Solan, Himachal Pradesh: Bangalore's "Sex Swami" Nityanand has been arrested a long way from home - in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district. Nityanand was arrested in Arki by the Bangalore Police, who had sought the help of the Himachal Police. Police said at the time of arrest, the swami had Rs. 3 lakh in Indian currency and 2000 dollars in travellers' cheques. (Read: Swamis in scandals - What keeps the faith?) The self-styled swami would be produced before a local magistrate in Himachal Pradesh and then would be taken to Bangalore. The controversial swami has been at large ever since television channels aired video clippings purportedly of him and a Tamil actress in a compromising situation. (Read: Swami's alleged sex CD sells for Rs. 1,000) Cases of rape, criminal intimidation and cheating among others have since been filed against the Godman based on various complaints. His ashram had been searched and hard disks seized were being examined, the police said. On allegations of rape against the swami, they appealed to victims to come out and give evidence. The swami's ashram has maintained that there is a "conspiracy" to malign Nityananda's reputation and have said that the video footage telecast by TV channels was morphed. After the sex tape surfaced, Nityananda's supporters issued this statement: "At this moment we feel that a mix of conspiracy, graphics and rumour are at play in these recent events that have unfolded. We are working on a legal course of action...In these trying times, we wish to reassure the lakhs of devotees and well-wishers whose sentiments have been deeply hurt by this conspiracy. We thank all the devotees and disciples for standing with us during these trying times." Nityananda had recently announced that he was quitting as the head of his ashram in Karnataka and associated trusts to lead a life of 'spiritual seclusion'. Nithyananda's Ashram is about 19 kilometres outside Bangalore, where he was based and was attacked by an angry crowd. Controversial self-styled godman Nithyananda faced a search warrant for his arrest after the government bearing the heat of public outrage decided to act against him over his activities including alleged sexual exploitation of his disciples. Nithyananda, already facing criminal cases including rape on complaints from some former disciples last year, is reportedly absconding from his ashram at Bidadi in Ramanagara district near Bangalore. With several protests on and calls for action against Nithyananda after a former US-based woman disciple narrated story of her alleged sexual abuse on a Kannada TV channel, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda yesterday held a high-level meeting with top police officials and said he would be arrested in two days. The meeting attended by DGP Lalrokhuma Pachau and other senior officials, also discussed the clash that took place between the media and his followers at his ashram last week, that has added to his troubles. Gowda said he has asked the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police to secure custody of Nithyananda's Dhyanapeetham premises and collect evidence about its activities and seal the ashram. The government would hold discussions with the law department to seek cancellation of bail granted by the Karnataka High Court to the self-styled godman in connection with a case of rape and criminal intimidation. Nithyananda is facing criminal charges, including rape, after a slew of complaints were filed against him in 2010 after some local TV channels telecast purported videos of the self-styled godman in a compromising position with an actress. Nithyananda, was arrested and later released on bail. Amid the developments, District in-charge Minister C P Yogeshwar visited the ashram area today, SP Anupam Agarwal said. Meanwhile, protests against Nithyananda were held in several places across the state. In the city, journalists staged a protest demanding action against those involved in the alleged assault of a TV reporter, shouting slogans against Nithyananda. The agitators, who burnt an effigy of Nithyananda, also demanded a thorough probe into the various sexual assault cases that have been filed against him so far. Similar protests by pro-Kannada organisations were held in Davanagere, Mysore and Bellary. In Bellary, agitators burnt an effigy of Nithyananda and submitted a memorandum to District Commissioner Amlan Biswas. Agarwal said police were investigating into the altercation and appropriate action would be taken against those found guilty. He said the whereabouts of Nithyananda was not known yet. The SP said Yogeshwar had directed him to submit a detailed report on the June 7 incident to Deputy Commissioner Sriram Reddy. Facing the heat, Nithyananda in a message to his followers said he was not on the run and 'touring places.' "I heard about the problems caused in the Bidadi ashram by the anti-social elements, but thanks to the timely intervention of the Bidadi and Ramangara police, all matters are under control," he said. Nithyananda said none can stop them from doing "good spiritual and social work" and all his charitable work, including 'Annadaanam' (free meals) would continue.
