Two Nityananda devotees file complaints against former aide

In what is seen as an attempt to bail out their guru, two women devotees of self-styled godman Nityananda have filed complaints against Lenin Kuruppan, who exposed his sleazy acts, accusing him of attempt to rape, extortion and other charges. South Indian film actress Ranjita, who has been accused of engaging in sleazy sex acts with Nityananda, and another disciple Ma Nithya Supriyananda, in separate complaints, have alleged that Lenin, a former disciple and driver of Nityananda, had attempted to rape them and threatened them. Ranjita, in her complaint before the Ramanagara Court, submitted that Lenin had made sexual advances to her and demanded Rs 20 crore for not releasing the sleazy video footage, which was aired by a regional Tamil TV Channel in March this year.
Ranjita, who claimed to be a "devotee" of the tainted godman, said, "Lenin displayed few poorly shot videos of his molestation of two women Brahmacharis on his laptop" and warned that she would see her own photos in such videos if she dared to complain.
Supriyananda has filed a complaint of attempted rape, threat to life and verbal abuse of her community (scheduled caste) in Bidadi police station.
Ranjita in her complaint, copies of which were furnished to reporters during her first ever appearance before the media after the incident, has charged Lenin with attempt to rape, extortion, acts intended to insult the modesty of women, among other things.
On the video footage that purportedly showed her in a compromising position with Nityananda, Ranjita said it had been "expertly crafted to give no indication about its morphing".
The actress, who has acted in more than 100 films, asserted that the person in the video footage was not her.
Supriyananda alleged that Bidadi station police were "biased and unfair" and said they treated her complaint as a "petition" suspecting her bonafides.
Meanwhile, the Bidadi police suspect it to be "false complaint" and said the inquiry into the complaint was on.
