Chennai: Lenin Karuppan alias Nithya Dharmananda, a former disciple of controversial godman Nityananda, on Friday reiterated that the video clippings showing Nityananda and actor Ranjitha at close quarters were authentic and challenged the `godman' to take a lie-detector test.
Talking to reporters here, Lenin said genuinness of the clippings could be tested in any laboratory and challenged Nityananda to prove that the clippings contained morphed images.
Lenin was addressing the press along with Prasanna Kumar Jain alias Nithya Gambirananda, who also claimed to be a former disciple of Nityananda.
Playing a recorded purported telephonic conversation between him and Nityananda, Lenin said the godman had repeatedly requested him to withdraw his complaint. "Since I refused to do so, he filed a false case through Ranjitha,'' he said referring to a case filed by the actress against him in a court in Karnataka. "If Ranjitha's case is true, why did she keep quiet for this long?'' he said.
Alleging that Nityananda had sexual relationships with at least 40 men and women, Lenin said the Karnataka police had filed a 430-page chargesheet against Nityananda with the statements of 110 witnesses and two victims. Nityananda's plea to quash the chargesheet had also been dismissed by the court, he added.
Referring to Nityananda's allegations that some of his enemies had damaged his ashram properties, Lenin said it was only one of Nityananda's disciples who had burnt the "non-disclosure sex contracts" of the godman with many men and women.
