Nithyananda was in love with tamil actress Ranjitha when he was in class 10!
Nithyananda often told his disciples and devotees that he was different and extrmely spiritual from a very young age. He said when he was younger he never did what kids his age did. He even claimed he never watched movies, except spiritual ones!
Well, TV9 Kannada interviewed Mr. Shivakumar who was Nithyananda's classmate, benchmate and friend from class 6 to 10. Mr. Shivakumar tells in these videos about Nithyananda's love affair with Ranjitha when he was in High School.
Ranjitha made her debut in Tamil films when she was cast in the lead role by director Bharatiraja in the movie 'Nadodi Thedral'. When the movie was released it was watched by a young Rajasekaran (alias Nithyananda) in Tiruvannamalai, at that time in his 10th class. It must have been love at first sight, because after watching that movie, Shivakumar tells how Rajasekaran always carried Ranjitha's photo in his school bag, along with the pictures of Gods that he had with him all he time! Mr. Shivakumar is surprised that after all these year, he did make his dream come true with his first love

Ranjitha's debut as the lead in 'Nadodi Thedral' was in 1992. Per article you posted, Rajasekaran was 15 when he saw it and developed a crush on her. 2010 minus 1992 = 18 years. 18+15 = 33! So it looks like N is 33 -- maybe the birthdate of March 1977 on his passport is the accurate one. Obviously, the 1/1/78 date is part of the bogus mythology he's created about himself. This still doesn't solve the mystery of his age while in college.
ReplyDeleteI'm not at all surprised to learn he had a crush on her from the time he was a teen. I believe he was quite enamored of having a pretty Tamil actress being a devotee and that he seduced her over a period of time. Based on things I've heard him say, I'm sure he saw it as a feather in his cap/turban!
