Karnataka Chief Minister, Shri Siddharamiah has ordered investigation of illegal land holdings in Nithyananda's Bangalore ashram (at Bidadi). Out of the 40 acres of agricultural land occupied by the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam ashram at Bidadi (Bangalore), only 2 acres have been legally converted from agricultural land for commercial purposes. So legally, Nithyananda is authorised to use only those 2 acres of land for all his non-agricultural (ashram) activities, including constructing all his buildings there. However, as documentary evidence has clearly revealed, remaining 38 acres are still agricultural land and is being illegally used by Nithyananda for commercial purposes. The Ramnagar DC had notified Nithyananda's ashram in 2012 about this illegality and demanded a response to this misuse of agricultural land. Speaking to reporters , the Chief Minister Mr. Siddharamiah said that the revenue minister will look into this issue and take necessary legal action against Nithyananda and his ashram.
