The swami set up his headquarters — Nithyananda Dhyanapeedam — at Bidadi on the Bangalore-Mysore Highway and ashrams across Tamil Nadu. He has ashrams in Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) and Puri (Odisha) as well. He runs meditation centres in a dozen of countries.
He landed in a storm after a news channel telecast video footage purportedly showing him in a sex romp with an actress. The video was of Nithyananda and a South Indian actress,

Briefing the media on Friday, Ramdev said that none of his claims about yoga curing several diseases were unscientific and that his cures had been recorded through a study. Speaking of his Bharat Swabhimaan movement, Ramdev said there were no political aspirations at present, but that he would reveal them when the time was correct.
ReplyDeleteAsked if the scandals like those of godman Nithyananda were hurting them, Ramdev said that every field had its share of corrupt people. When incidents like these happen, it hurts the sentiments of people, but the overall image does not get affected,” he said. His group Bharat Swabhimaan would fight corruption and for this purpose would enlist 5 lakh members in each district. The yoga camp is being held at Tripura Vasini at P Grounds.
